Dr. Fernando Gonzalez is Principal in the Local Currency and Capital Market Development team at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. Prior to that he was a Senior Advisor in the Prudential Policy Directorate at the Bank of England and worked at the European Central Bank as the Head of the Risk Strategy Division within the Directorate Risk Management. Prior to working at the ECB, he held a number of academic and research positions at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, the Swedish School of Economics and the London Business School. He also worked in the Treasury Department of the Banco Exterior in Madrid. He has authored various articles and books in the areas of central bank risk management and financial modelling. He has a doctoral degree in financial economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and is a CFA and FRM charterholder.
