Dr. Thomas Dohrn is Legal and Policy Expert in the German Federal Ministry of Finance, dealing with regulatory issues of the banking sector. He joined the Ministry in 2008 and has worked on several national and European Union legislative proposals in the fields of prudential bank regulation and bank recovery and resolution. Since 2016 he is responsible for the negotiations on the ongoing review of EU banking regulation (Capital requirements regulation and directive, CRR/CRD) and the legislative proposal for a minimum loss coverage for non-performing exposures (NPL prudential backtop). Until August 2016, he was seconded as national expert to the European Banking Authority (EBA) for three years. Dr. Dohrn started his career as a lawyer in banking and financing law at an international law firm in 2006.
